Young or Young at Heart

On Friday, Jordan Ferney posted a slideshow of her favorite ("most original") kids rooms on Babble. A lot of them were really cute and simple. There is something so great about decorating and putting together a room for a person who has a limited number of possessions. Everything can be more whimsical and less functional. I feel like figuring out where to hide away some of my uglier belongings (like my iron, steamer, and collection of papers and hand outs from a grad school info session I went to) is one of the more annoying tasks in decorating and organizing my room.
Anyway, the whole point of this is that one of the rooms was absolutely cool and funky. I think it would be great for a human of any age who enjoyed the funkier things in life, and perhaps for someone who didn't have to store so many unsightly possessions in their bedroom (me).

As a kid I would have loved creating miniature displays in those shelves with dollhouse items and other small toys and trinkets that I collected. I was a serious collector (of mostly crap) as a kid. Now, I would love to put small books, candles, jewelry, and other weird things that I have collected (I guess being a collector-of-crap never really grew out of me). I can think of a few q-tip dioramas that would look nice against a background of fun, eclectic wallpaper.
